Earlier life
Abitha was born on 16th April 1985 at Kotayam, Kerala. She completed her secondary education in Nehru Matriculation Higher Secondary School, Chennai. She’s a bachelor’s degree from Annamalai University. She got married to a business man Sunil at 2009. They’ve two girls, Alsa and Ansila. Abitha height 160 cm and Weight 58 kg. Career
Beautiful and talented, Abitha began her career in the age of 12, as a young child performer. Who’s working in Tamil, Malayalam and Kannada film & Tamil television industry.
As a teen, Abitha used to go and watch the Television serial, Nancy starring Sanghavi, being filmed near her home in Thiruvottiyur. The manager of that serial recognized her and spoke to her parents, roping her into to play the heroine’s sister into their second Television serial Criminal. After doing a few series, she did a small budget picture Titled Golmaal as the sister of a leader woman and after that B Grade movie titled Devadasi in Malayalam. During That time, director Bala roped her in for a leading role in Sethu alongside Vikram, which she signed up after Keerthi Reddy and Rajshri had dropped out.
Bala renamed her Abitha from her first Name of Jenila for the movie, after the character she was portraying. The film started in December 1999 in a single noon show at a suburb theater, but built through word-of mouth promotion and conducted for more than one hundred days at a few cinema halls around Chennai, becoming a critical and commercial success. Sethu won the national film award for best feature film at Tamil and procured wins in the Best Film category at the Filmfare Awards and the Cinema Express awards, while Abitha has won critical acclaim for her part in a tamil Brahmin woman.
Abitha also acted with well known actors such as Vishwa, Bose Venkat, Ramarajan and Hussain Ahmed Khan. She’s appeared in some well known movies like Ettupatti Rasa, Golmaal, Poove Pen Poove and Unarchigal. Abitha was noted for the roles in movies as Nam Naadu along with Sarath Kumar, Vijayakumar, Pragathi and Riyaz Khan. Abitha made her small screen debut as the most important lead celebrity in Thirumathi Selvam in the year 2007 where she starred opposite Sanjeev. The show made them set as probably most celebrated pair of little screen and made them enjoy immense popularity among Tamil audience due to their personalities Selvam and Archana from the show.
The show was a Superhit judgment The Tamil little screen for 4 years and a half a year from 2008 to 2013. Abitha was chosen the best celebrity of Sun TV at the first two editions of Sun Kudumbam awards held at the years 2010 and 2012 for her operation as Archana from the show. She also played in the Tamil series Thangamana Purushan, Simran Thirai, Ponnunjal and Muthaaram. Abitha now doing the leading role in Lakshmi Stores serial along with Suresh at Sun TV.
