Bhagyalakshmi (another spelling Bhakyalakshmi or Baakiyalakshmi) is an Indian Tamil serial aired on Vijay TV and is also available on the digital platform Hotstar. It is produced by Venus Infotainment of KJ Ganesh, which premiered on 16th March 2020. Suchitra and Vishal are the main protagonists of the series along with an ensemble supporting cast including Neha Menon, Velu Lakshmanan, Sathish and Rajya Lakshmi. The show has been remade in Bengali as Sreemoyee which used to air on STAR Jalsha.

Story
Bhagyalakshmi is the story of a married homemaker in an urban set-up who lives with her entire family – in-laws, three children and a husband. Her life revolves around her husband who is an egoist and practical and the three grown children. To the world, her family seems nothing short of a dream. However, Bhagyalakshmi soon starts to realize that her very own family takes her for granted and that her world is shallow and lonely. And amidst the quest of caring for their every need, she never took the time to carve her own identity and harness her talent for singing. Bhagyalakshmi is the journey of a woman who embarks on a journey to create an identity for herself – which has more layers than that of a wife and mother – one of that of an individual.
