Vichithra was born on the 2nd June 1973 in Chennai, Tamil Nadu. She finished her secondary education in AVM Matriculation School, Chennai. And, then she finished her graduation BA Psychology in Chennai. Vichithra is the daughter of actors Williams and Mary Vasantha and has two sisters and a brother.

In 7th June 2001, she married to Shaji. They couple have 3 boys. She has settled in Mysore after marriage and start her own restaurant. Vichithra height 175 cm and Weight 60 kg. Vichithra began her acting career by age of 17 from the Tamil movie Porkkodi, but the movie was Unreleased. She released movie was Aval Oru Vasantham. Her breakthrough came from the kind of a part in Selva’s Thalaivasal, in which she played a role known as Madippu Hamsa. She’s worked with leading Tamil actors like Kamal Haasan, Vijayakanth, Ajith Kumar, Rajinikanth, Satyaraj, Kartik, Goundamani, Senthil and Pandiarajan.
